ABOUT ME
I grew up in a large
family on the East coast of England. After studying law at Oxford University, I
moved to London where I was a trial attorney for over a decade. While traveling
in Kenya, I met my (Canadian) husband, and less than a year later moved out to
his family’s acreage in Alberta.
Over the last 25 years we
have raised a family and I switched gears on my career, qualifying as a yoga
teacher in 2007. When a local Marriage Commissioner position became available
in 2018, I jumped at the opportunity to apply, and was delighted to be
appointed to the post. My two jobs dove-tail beautifully, as I don’t teach yoga
in the summer, so am fully available for the busy wedding season.
With my 3 decades
worth of experience in communicating – particularly with public speaking – as
well as my attention to legal details, you can rest assured that you are in
very safe hands on your big day. I believe that listening is a crucial part of
communicating, and strive to ensure that every couple feels comfortable letting
me know what they need to make their ceremony as stress free and perfect as
possible. And I’m almost certain we will have some laughs along the way.
